Grade: CG-540

3-trimethoxysilylpropan-1-amine

CG-540 (3-trimethoxysilylpropan-1-amine) has methoxy groups that hydrolyze to form Si-OH, releasing methanol. The hydrolysis rate is faster than that of CG-550 (3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane), followed by condensation with hydroxyl groups on inorganic material surfaces to form Si-O-M bonds. The reactive amino group (-NH2) can react with various organic functional groups such as carboxylic acids, phenolic resins, polyesters, and epoxies.

Packaging and Storage

This product can be packaged in 25 kg plastic drums, 200 kg plastic drums, or steel drums. Other package sizes are available upon request. Store in a cool, well-ventilated, dry place in tightly sealed containers, protected from light. Keep away from moisture and sources of ignition. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed and effectively isolates the product from air; moisture in the air can react quickly, thereby leading to hydrolysis and polymerization. Shelf life in the original unopened packaging is one year. This product is irritating to skin and eyes. If it contacts skin, wash with soap. If it contacts eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Application

  • CG-540 is used in mineral-filled thermoplastic and thermosetting resins such as phenolic, polyester, epoxy, PBT, polyamide, and polycarbonate to improve the dry and wet flexural strength, compressive strength, shear strength, and other physical-mechanical properties of reinforced plastics, as well as wet electrical properties, while enhancing the wettability and dispersibility of fillers in the polymer.

  • CG-540 enhances the adhesion of resin-coated silica sand in resin sand casting, improving the strength and moisture resistance of the molding sand.

  • CG-540 improves moisture resistance and increases compression resilience when added to phenolic binders in the production of glass fiber and mineral wool.

  • CG-540 acts as an adhesion promoter for polyurethane, epoxy, nitrile, and phenolic sealants, improving pigment dispersibility and enhancing adhesion to glass, aluminum, and iron metals.

  • CG-540 is suitable for polyurethane, epoxy, and acrylic latex coatings.
