CG-550 (3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane) hydrolyzes to form silanol with the release of ethanol, which then condenses with hydroxyl groups on inorganic material surfaces to form Si-O-M bonds. The active amino group (-NH2) can react with various organic functional groups such as carboxylic acids, phenolics, polyesters, and epoxides. It can participate in reactions with various thermosetting, thermoplastic, and elastomeric materials.
